Guys, let’s give a round of applause: gCircuit Song Kran is officially back after a three-year hiatus and a tiny party in Phuket that was a fourth of the real fun.
“It’s going to be the most ambitious Song Kran ever,” says Sumet Srimueng and Tom Tan, the event’s founding couple, in an email interview. The two have spent the past years in pandemic lockdown planning the return of gCircuit, with the goal of coming back with a big bang. They go on to share what to expect from this year’s gCircuit parties.
Here’s a rundown.
Four days of outrageous and unforgettable parties
One of the things gCircuit is famous for is its cohesive and crazy themes for its parties, which are never repeated. “We’re finally doing big-scale parties again! It’s been three years since our last BIG event and we are going all out. We will be using the biggest venue for our Night Parties this year,” says Sumet.
This year, gCircuit’s nocturnal celebrations will be held at Centara Bangkok’s largest convention hall over the course of four days, the most gCircuit has ever put together. To add to the grandeur, the stage production is “going to be amazing and [we will be] having a lot of surprises.”
The themes for this year’s night parties are:
- 13 April: Neon Metropolis
The opening party features beats from DJs Chu, Ivan Gomez, and Nacho Chopado, who will be spinning in a setting festooned with state-of-the-art, glow-in-the-dark lights. - 14 April: Super Heroes: Super Villains
Dress up as your favorite superhero or villain and swish that cape as you groove to upbeat tunes by DJs Preeda Tony, Isis Muretech, and Alex Acosta. - 15 April: Space Opera
Jet off to the space with EDM beats from the decks of DJs Sun J and Mor Avarahami. - 16 April: 50 Shades of Gay
End the four-day event on a high, and celebrate diversity and inclusivity with beats by DJs Grant, Erick Ibiza, and Tom Stephan.
All-new stage designs, lights, and shows
Remember those state-of-the-art stage designs from the last big gCircuit party? Well, this year’s parties will feature more spectacular productions. From what we know, you can expect kinetic lights, booming speakers, holograms, and a stage that transforms, not to mention even hotter shows.
Two pool parties by the Chao Phraya River
gCircuit’s pool parties have always been equally entertaining and this year will be no different. The event will return to the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel to host two pool parties, each of which is themed specifically for certain types: one for bears and another for hunky boys.
- 15 April: Big Sun Pool
The pool party for brawny types will feature live EDM music by DJs Herric and Rita, which you can enjoy with booze and views of the river. - 16 April: Sun Pool
Come Sunday, take a dip in the cool pool with muscly hunks from around the world and dance to music by DJs Mango and Taki.
Bonus: Royal Orchid Sheraton has just unveiled a new riverside restaurant Siam Yacht Club. So it’s a great chance for you to try its nautical-themed food and drinks.
