The Thirteen Lives project started taking shape in 2020, with Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind) coming on board to bring cinematic life to the dramatic story of a Thai youth football team that got trapped in a cave in Chiang Rai for 18 days in 2018.

Thirteen Lives centers on the arduous rescue mission of the Moo Pa (Wild Boars), a Chiang Rai-based team of 12 young footballers and their coach, by Thai Navy Seals and foreign experts, who are portrayed by Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell and Joel Edgerton.

Joining the Hollywood stars are familiar Thai faces like Sukollawat "Weir" Kanarot (Malila: The Farewell Flower), Teerapat "Tui" Sajakul (The Serpent), Sahajak Boonthanakit (The Serpent), Vithaya Pansringarm (Only God Forgives), and Teeradon “James” Supapunpinyo (Bad Genius).

Thirteen Lives will be available for streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime from 5 August onwards. The streaming service is now available for subscription in Thailand at B189 per month.
