Tissues at the ready. One for the Road, the new film directed by Nattawut "Baz" Poonpiriya of Bad Genius (2017) fame and produced by legendary filmmaker Wong Kar-Wai, is a certified tear-jerker.

Set to come out at Thai cinemas February 10, the film follows two friends—Boss (Thanapob “Tor” Leeratanakajorn) and Ood (Nattarat “Ice” Nopparattayaporn)—who reunite for the first time in years so Ood, who is suffering from terminal cancer, can meet all of his ex-girlfriends to impart a final goodbye.

One for the Road reveals the two actors’ departure from their usual teenage portrayals to more serious and mature roles. In addition, the film also casts some of Thailand’s most talented actresses, including Chutimon “Aokbab” Chuengcharoensukying, Violette Wautier , Ploi Horwang, and Siraphun “Noon” Wattanajinda.

Ahead of its premiere in Thailand, One for the Road made an impressive debut at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the World Dramatic Special Jury Award for Creative Vision.

Baz is also set to come out with a few more high-profile projects, such as The Innkeeper, an English-language horror film for the studio that produced Crazy Rich Asians, and a new Netflix-original series based on the Tham Luang cave rescue mission in 2018.
