It’s around this time of the year when dining outlets in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Phang-Nga are shaking to the core, waiting for the announcement of the world’s most prestigious culinary awards: the Michelin Guide. And now, the nerve-wracking anticipation has come to an end because the results are finally in!

Earlier today (Dec 16), Michelin hosted a star revelation event at the soon-to-open Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok to uncover a complete list of all the restaurants and eateries in Thailand featured in the latest edition of the red covered dining guide.

There were a lot of affirmations but also some surprises. Many star-worthy restaurants were blessed with a star for the very first time, and there are also a few that, unfortunately, did not make the cut.

A big round of applause went to some of the names who could save their one-star accolade, namely 80/20, Bo.lan, Canvas, Chim by Siam Wisdom, Elements, and street food queen Jay Fai. Meanwhile, the one-star list has welcomed first-timers like Sushi Masato, Blue by Alain Ducasse, and Dan Bark's new venture Cadence. Le Normandie, Mezzaluna, R-Haan, Sorn, Sühring were the biggest honorees during the revelation, retaining their two-star rank. Joining the two-star family for the first time this year is Chef's Table at State Tower.

Some eateries, like Upstairs by Mikkeller, Gaa, and Table 38, which have closed down, were dropped from the list this year. Once again, those elusive three stars weren’t awarded to any restaurant in Thailand. What a shame.

For the first time, the Michelin Guide also gave three new awards, namely MICHELIN Guide Service Award, MICHELIN Guide Young Chef Award, and MICHELIN Green Star. Each of these new awards is granted to recognize the personnel in the food and beverage industry, inspire the younger generation, and boost the awareness of sustainability.

All in all, The MICHELIN Star Revelation 2021 granted stars to 28 eateries in Thailand, with 22 restaurants receiving one star and six restaurants two stars.

Big congratulations from us! Check out the full list of all Michelin-starred restaurants and eateries in Thailand below.
