Everywhere you go in Bangkok, you probably get to see a huge number of shops and bakeries churning out hot (and sometimes cold and dry) croissants to satisfy the hype over this pastry favorite. But we think it's time people need to explore something new in the pastry horizons and allow us to introduce to you two new pastry shops in the city!

First up, we have Monty's, the newest bagel shop run by the same team as Bangkok's popular brunch eatery Roast. The Monty's crew has taken a spot in The Common Thonglor to bake their Montreal-style bagels that give off an enticing smell all over the venue.

But why Montreal? Monty's explains that Montreal-style bagels must have "the golden crust and a good crunch while the texture is soft and chewy on the inside". What's better is every bagel is hand-kneaded and poached in honey before the baking step so that it has a beautiful, shiny glaze.

Monty's offer their bagels in four different styles: Classic (B60), Burnt Onion (B60), Sesame (B60), and Everything (B60). You can also customize your to-go bagel as an open-faced sandwich if you want! Order now via foodpanda, GrabFood, Robinhood, and LINE MAN, you can visit the shop at The Commons Thonglor (3rd Floor), which is open every day from 08:00 to 15:00. See more menus here.

For those with a sweet tooth, we also want to introduce you to a new Polish donut shop called Holy Donut. This one is Bangkok's very first venture that brings the authentic taste of a pączkarnia or a traditional Polish deep-fried donut. What makes this Polish pączki stand out from the simple donut we all have from the likes of Krispy Kreme is how the dough is fluffy and "a beautiful halo ring wrapped around the middle" known as an 'obręczka' in Polish.

Holy Donut uses an old-aged recipe that has been passed down in the owner's family, which has a splash of vodka as one of the ingredients to make this pączkarnia so unique.

There are six versions of pączkarnia you can try from Holy Donut: Strawberry Powered (B45), Strawberry Glazed (B45), vanilla milk-filled Krem Mleczny (B55), Boston cream-filled and chocolate-grazed Bonstoński (B65), Nutella (B75), and Belgian Matcha (B75).

The store is offering only delivery via LINE MAN and 08 0113 5453, or you can do self-pickup around BTS Victory Monument. Check out Holy Donut's official website here.
