Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has started to enforce a new restriction on face mask-wearing from April 26 until further notice. The practice is now fully compulsory for every individual who wishes to go out into the public, and those who do not follow the rule will be fined up to B20,000.

If you think you can go by just wearing one under your chin, well—get ready to pay the fine as well. The authorities, according to Thai PBS, also detailed the restriction that improper wearing (i.e. wearing a face mask under your chin and covering only your mouth with a face mask) is now against the law.

What's more, City Hall furthered the rule to car drivers and passengers to also wear a face mask at all times—except for when you drive alone and there's no passenger with you.

All the restrictions are now in effect, so please be careful.
