The Mandarin Oriental package features an overnight stay in the newly-renovated, 376-square-meter two-bedroom Oriental Suite for six people, an in-suite dinner for 16 by executive chef Dominique Bugnand and Le Normandie chef de cuisine Arnaud Dunand Sauthier, and a private balcony to witness the New Year fireworks display along the Chao Phraya.

Across the river, The Peninsula is offering a package that includes a stay for four in a two-bedroom duplex suite with a private balcony (on which there’s a jacuzzi!), an in-suite five-course dinner prepared by executive chef Stefan Leitner with free-flow Champagne, roundtrip limo transfers, a facial treatment at the hotel spa, B188,000 donation to Operation Smile in the guest’s name and—here comes the really exciting bit—a 45-minute helicopter ride on New Year’s Eve to see the fireworks from the sky.
