It's announced today that Pope Francis, the supreme leader of Catholic churches worldwide, will make an official visit to Thailand from 20th to 23rd of November. This is the first papal visit to Thailand in 35 years since Saint Pope John Paul II's visit in May 1984.

During his visit, Pope Francis is scheduled to host two public holy masses—one of the two is exclusively for Thai Catholic youth. The detailed program of the papal visit will be announced later.

His Holiness Pope Francis is the 266th Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church. Born as Jorge Mario Bergoglio on 17 Dec 1936 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He completed a Master's in Chemistry at the University of Buenos Aires and a diploma in Philosophy from the Colegio Máximo San José.

His Holiness is one of the very few popes in history favored by progressive-minded Catholic individuals and the LGBTQ+ community for his open-minded opinion towards gender diversity

After the Thailand visit, he will continue his Asia tour in Japan from 23-27 Nov.
