We’re trying not to overstate this, but surely, for a majority of Thais, the ultimate comfort food is curry and rice or khao gang. This dish is simple: plain rice topped with a curry, and served with stir-fried or deep-fried sides. Shops and stalls selling this street food favorite are a dime a dozen in Thailand.
But these days, when we’ve somehow gotten used to the idea of not leaving the house to get food, the idea of having khao gang delivered sounds like a tempting prospect, one that RICEGANG is all too happy to fulfil. The new delivery shop is all about bringing the comfort offered by this ubiquitous street food right to your doorstep. It even steps us the khao gang game by using mostly locally-sourced ingredients and using healthy recipes.
For each bowl (starts at B90), you can choose to pair brown rice, Riceberry rice or quinoa (add B40) with the many curries and side dishes they have on the roster. But Ricegang also has signature bowls for those who don’t know where to start. These include the Gangstir Bowl Signatures (B320), a bowl with quinoa, spicy and sour soup with roasted prawns and coconut shoots, stir-fried chicken breast and sweet basil, and vegetarian green curry; and the Gangstir Bowl Protein (B360), a power-boosting meal comprised of brown rice, fried egg, panang curry with meatballs, stir-fried chicken and coconut shoots, and grilled sea bass.
