Things are looking up for Chef Prin Polsuk. Earlier this year, the prominent Thai chef and his casual-dining restaurant Samrub Samrub Thai was ranked number 75 in a list of the world’s best restaurants, and was number 31 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.

The chef is also expanding his culinary empire. Soon, Chef Prin will open a new restaurant called Vilas, a name that takes inspiration from the Thai word that means both “beautiful” and “foreign”. On its official Facebook page, the restaurant announced that the chef, alongside his life and culinary partner Mint Jarukittikun, is “flipping the switch at Vilas with a fantastical dining journey that is Thai at heart with a diverse soul”.

Instead of reworking age-old Thai recipes like they do at Samrub Samrub Thai, Vilas will focus on a “playful approach in combining new world ingredients with ancient Thai cooking techniques”.

So far, no more info has been revealed apart from its location. Vilas will be located on the second floor of Mahanakhon CUBE at King Power Mahanakhon.
