Time Out says

The sex-positive museum in Silom will host the tour this weekend at four different venues.

Everybody is raving about the hit Indian show Gangubai Kathiawadi on Netflix. The biographical film pays homage to Indian social activist and renowned brothel owner Gangubai Harjeevandas. But do you know that Thailand also has someone with the same amazing history and reputation as the Mumbai madam?

In the late 1800s, a woman known by the name of Grandma Fang owned then-famous brothel Rong Yai Fang in the neighborhood of Sampheng. Similar to Gangubai, Grandma Fang, in addition to running her bordello, was a patron who contributed countless good deeds to society, such as donating one of her properties to construct a Buddhist temple (known as Wat Kanika Phon today).

You can now learn more about Grandma Fang via The Local Story by Patpong Museum. This weekend, the sex-positive museum in Silom will host the tour, which will take you through its history as well as that of three different establishments, namely Talad Noi’s 100-year-old Chinese house So Heng Tai, Wat Kanika Phon and erotic art museum Kamavichitra Museum.

Participants will be shuttled from one venue to the next in a tuk tuk. Tickets are priced at B1,399 per person, and the tours will be held on May 21 (with a Thai-speaking guide) and May 22 (with an English-speaking guide). The meeting point will be at So Heng Tai at 12:30. Refreshments will be provided.
