Boston New Year’s Eve events

First night is back in a big way, for the first time really since 2019, and ready to ring in 2023 with a full schedule of exciting performances and fun for the whole family. Festivities usually kick off around noon on New Year’s Eve, and you can expect live music at the BPL, a parade through Back Bay, ice sculptures displayed in Copley Square, a "skating spectacular" on the Common's Frog Pond and, of course, fireworks at the strike of midnight. While we love Boston, it’s inarguable that one of the best times to travel is over the New Year’s break. Whether you hop on a plane and head to an island or overseas to ring in the New Year hours early, celebrating 2023 out of town can feel so special. If you’d rather a road trip, resorts and hotels across New England are hosting celebrations as well. Out on the Cape, the Pelham House Resort will be hosting an oceanfront extravaganza to usher in 2023. Ticketed guests will enjoy enjoy food stations, activites, entertainment, and cash bars throughout, along with a live band and dancing. Head North to Vermont’s luxurious Hermitage Inn for a decadent dinner on December 31, then work off your meal hiking the next day.

The Liberty Hotel’s annual fete will take place on all levels of The Liberty Hotel’s main rotunda and feature three of Boston’s top DJs, two dance floors, entertainment and aerial performances by The Boston Circus Guild, and a light dinner buffet. Across town, the Revere Hotel will be hosting a 21+ "Shimmer and Shine Ball" featuring a DJ, party favors, photo opps, and more. Dress to impress is encouraged. Finally, keep it classy at the Fairmont’s OAK Long Bar + Kitchen, a perennial Boston fave, who will be offering a special of a dozen wellfleet oysters, responsibly sourced caviar, veuve mignonette, blini’s, cultured cream and traditional accouterments, with the bar pouring drinks until 12:45am.
