If there’s one thing Capetonians – and anyone visiting the city – know how to do, it’s have a good time, come rain or shine. This weekend's weather looks a little drier (though still on the chilly side), with light rain expected on Friday and the sun making a much-needed appearance on Saturday and Sunday.

With that in mind, here are the events happening from Friday, 11 July to Sunday, 13 July that you won’t want to miss.

CBD: A Musical Affair

Mandisi Dyantyis Symphonic Celebration

Mandisi Dyantyis, in collaboration with the renowned Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, presents Symphonic Celebration – a momentous event he describes as “the biggest night of my life.” The iconic Artscape Opera House will come alive with two unforgettable evenings of orchestral brilliance. The 65-piece symphony orchestra will breathe new life into selections from Mandisi’s acclaimed albums Cwaka and Somandla, along with previews from his highly anticipated release, Intlambululo.

Cape Town Festival of Running

The much-loved Cape Town Festival of Running is back – and in better shape than ever! Set along the stunning Sea Point Promenade, the festival features three fun events spread over two days. Day one kicks off with the 50km mini-ultra and a lively 5km x 5km relay race, while day two wraps things up with a scenic 21km half-marathon. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just getting started, there’s something for everyone.
