Earlier this year, Katy Perry chained a disco ball to a planter near the Chicago Theatre, allowing passersby to listen to a 20-second loop of the chorus to her infectious single "Chained to the Rhythm." On October 10, the artist responsible for one of the most hallucinogenic Super Bowl halftime shows (the one that gave us Left Shark) will be coming to Chicago in person for a concert at the United Center.

This morning, Perry revealed that her latest album, Witness, will be released on June 9—just in time to put at least one of her newest tracks in contention for song of the summer. If you purchase a ticket to her Chicago show (or any other date of her extensive tour) you'll get your own copy of the album when it's released next month.

Tickets for Perry's United Center show go on sale Monday, May 22 at 10am. She may not ride into the area atop a gigantic lion puppet or soar over the crowd on a shooting star, but you're almost guaranteed to witness something equally spectacular.
