Playwright Philip Dawkins looks back on family history in The Happiest Place on Earth, a co-presentation of Sideshow Theatre Company (of which Dawkins is an artistic associate) and the Greenhouse Theater Center’s Solo Celebration. Dawkins, currently a dual Jeff Award nominee for best new work for the past season’s premieres of his Charm (Northlight Theatre) and Le Switch (About Face Theatre), steps on stage himself to recount the story of his grandfather’s death and the subsequent life of his grandmother and her four daughters. (Disneyland figures prominently, hence the title.) Happiest Place has just added a week of performances; you can now see it through October 30 at the Greenhouse.
