Apparently it's National Italian Beef Month, a designation that doesn't really mean much if you're not from Chicago, where Turano rolls and juicy sandwiches are fast food staples. To celebrate the occasion, local chain Portillo's is running a social media contest with an enticing grand prize: free food for an entire year.
To enter, all you need to do is take a photo of yourself at a Portillo's with your favorite dish (this isn't necessarily limited to Italian beef sandwiches). Once you've tagged it with #MeatUpSweeps and @portilloshotdogs, simply post it on Twitter or Instagram before May 31.
Three lucky winners will receive a $700 Portillo's gift card, Portillo's catering for up to 16 people and some assorted Portillo's swag.
You'll need to pick a Portillo's (the original location at 100 W Ontario Street or the chain's newest Chicago outpost at 520 W Taylor Street) to get started. Go ahead make friends with the cashier while you're there—you're going to be seeing them quite frequently if you manage to win that gift card.
