Are you that friend who's always picking the most unusual item on the menu? You'll want to grab tickets to the inaugural Strange Foods Chicago Festival on November 6 from 1–4pm at Moonlight Studios. The festival is being organized by Keng Sisavath, who you may know by his Instagram handle, strangefoodschicago and Jed Swartz, curator of the Instagram account chicagofoodevents.

The foods will come from 15 different restaurants and won't just be "weird things"—you'll see mostly traditional foods that might not be dishes that Chicagoans usually eat, including fluorescent Taiwanese-style shaved ice (pictured above) from Snow Dragon Shavery and nutrient-rich juice from Infiniteus. If this seems up your alley, tickets are $40 through October 12 and $45 through October 16, but after that prices rise to $55.

Participating restaurants:
Immm Rice and Beyond
Bites Asian Tapas
Saigon Bistro Restaurant
Serai
Tanuki Sushi & Grill
J51 Smile
Snow Dragon Shavery
Jarabe Mexican Street Food
El Carrito
HoneyDoe
Shokran
Aha Crepes
Somethin' Sweet Doughnuts
Infiniteus
KhaoLaam
Tropicuba
