1. Go to a gigantic music festival

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Lollapalooza has taken over Grant Park for the weekend. Listen to more than 170 artists play against the iconic Chicago skyline—just don’t forget your sunscreen. If you can't score tickets to the fest, check out this list of after-parties(Grant Park, 337 E Randolph St, 11am–10pm. $335 four-day pass, $120 single-day ticket)

2. Groove to a drum circle

For those aiming to get as far from Grant Park as possible this weekend, head to Jeff Fest Arts and Music Festival—Jefferson Park’s annual community event. Sip local beers, hit up some food trucks and jam to a drum circle. (Jefferson Memorial Park, 4822 N Long Ave, Fri 6pm, Sat & Sun noon. $5)

3. Eat a ton of barbecue

This Sunday, Craig Couper of Michael Jordan’s Steak House will be serving up his own interpretation of barbecue as part of the second installment of Chef Bill Kim’s BBQ series. Come hungry! (bellyQ, 1400 W Randolph St, 1pm. $45)

4. Sip afternoon cocktails

Lakeview’s new Left Coast Food + Juice is throwing a Sunday Funday in collaboration with Crafthouse Cocktails. Try some healthy food options from Left Coast, chased with a cocktail or four. (Left Coast Food + Juice, 2878 N Lincoln Ave, 3pm. Free)

5. Enjoy some Shakespeare

Kick back with friends and family and watch Shakespeare’s gender-bending comedy, As You Like It. It’s supposed to be a gorgeous weekend, so pack a picnic. (Schreiber Playground Park at Gross Park, 2708 W Lawrence Ave, Sat 6pm, Sun 2pm. Free)
