The three best things to do in Chicago this weekend

1. Get weird in Palmer Square Park

Tour de Fat is returning to Palmer Square on Saturday. New Belgium Brewery's celebration of bicycles, beer and circus performers is one of the coolest festivals of the summer. The day begins with a bike parade and continues with circus performances and live music (including Reggie Watts and Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds). The festival aims to be environmentally conscious, and one lucky attendee will be able to trade in their car for a brand new bicycle. (Palmer Square Park, 3100 W Palmer Blvd, Saturday, July 11, 11am. Free)

2. Check out a 12-hour play

The Hypocrites' All Our Tragic combines all 32 surviving Greek tragedies into a single unwinding story that lasts for roughly 12 hours. The show is in its second year, and is known for creating a bonding experience between actors and audience members. (The Den Theatre, 1329 N Milwaukee, Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, 11am. $125)

3. Rock out at the Taste

Spoon is bringing their power-pop act to the Taste of Chicago on Saturday, where you'll be able to groove out to some of the group's best tunes while eating some of the city's best food. Tickets are a bit pricey, but you can sit on the lawn and watch from afar for free. (Petrillo Music Shell, 235 S Columbus Dr, Saturday, July 12, 7:30pm. Pavillon, $15-$50. Lawn, Free)
