Last night, Chicago's best bar teams and industry experts gathered at Artifact Events for Time Out Chicago's very first Bar Awards. Drinks were poured, dancing was had and awards were given out—and everyone had a damn good time. The night carried on as the drinks flowed with beer provided by Peroni and craft cocktails made with Tito's Handmade Vodka (made by Lee Zaremba of the nominated Billy Sunday). Drinks and drinks later, our fearless leader (read: editor) Laura Rote announced our 2016 winners, like the Whistler (Bar of the Year), the Sixth (Best New Cocktail Bar) and Delilah's (Best Single Focus Bar). Our Best Bartender this year, Graham Heubach from Sportsman's Club, also won a surprise trip to Austin courtesy of Austin Tourism to celebrate with the winners from other Time Out cities: New York, Los Angeles, Paris and London.
Needless to say, enough fun was had to make today a bit of a struggle, but clearly there is no remedy for this except the hair of the dog. And luckily, with our lists of winners and nominees, you'll have no problem figuring out where that next drink will be.
