Earlier this year, the folks at Audiotree recorded four local bands performing at Thalia Hall, a lovingly restored historic concert hall in Pilsen. This week, we're sharing videos that highlight beautiful spaces within the venue as well as music from some of Chicago's most talented performers (including acts like SantahHanna Ashbrook and Marrow).

Today, we're premiering a performance by Owen, the long-running solo project of Mike Kinsella, who is perhaps best known for his work with influential Chicago-based bands Cap'n Jazz and Joan of Arc. Armed with an acoustic guitar covered in doodles, Kinsella played on Thalia Hall's stage with his back to the room, turning in a rendition of "Love is Not Enough," a concise song from his 2013 album L'Ami du Peuple.

Want to see what the stage looks like from the audience? Time Out Chicago is co-presenting the Chicago Humanities Festival Closing Party at Thalia Hall on November 8 at 7pm. Marking the end of CHF’s Pilsen Day, the event will feature music from Sones de Mexico Ensemble, Dos Santos and Sonorama.
