The Fourth of July marks peak hot dog season, and just in time for America’s 250th, Portillo’s has teamed up with go-to Windy City supplier Vienna Beef to drop a culinary firecracker: the all-new Char’diniera Dog. Available now for a limited time, this is a hot dog to remember, infused with unmistakable Chicago flair.

This flavor-infused creation is a char-grilled beef hot dog that has giardiniera and provolone cheese stuffed right inside the meat. It promises to deliver a perfect trifecta of smoky char, rich cheesiness and a medium-heat kick that’ll make your tastebuds do the polka.

“The Char’diniera Dog captures the iconic Chicago flavors that our guests crave, now in a Portillo’s hot dog that features our signature snap,” said Denise Lauer, chief marketing officer at Portillo’s.

The hot dog is served Maxwell-style, smothered in mustard and sweet, grilled onions. But you can also get it Chicago-style—dragged through the garden with the classic seven-ingredient lineup—or as a nudie, plain without the bun or any other toppings you’d like.

The debut of the Char’diniera Dog also marks the grand kickoff of Portillo’s inaugural Hot Dog Season celebration. Portillo’s has been serving its lineup of legendary dogs for more than 60 years, and they’re celebrating their history and America’s 250th with limited-edition patriotic packaging.

Even better, Portillo’s Perks loyalty members can snag an unbelievable deal for National Hot Dog Week. From July 14 to 16, members can get a hot dog for just $1 with any purchase of $5 or more.

Whether you’re a traditionalist who sticks to the classic snap or a thrill-seeker ready to embrace the heat of a giardiniera-stuffed wiener, this summer is all about celebrating local flavor. Head over to Portillos.com to find your nearest location, and snag a Char’diniera Dog before they're gone.
