Once you've toured ZooLights, Lightscape and all the other returning displays of Christmas lights in Chicago, it might be time to turn your attention to something new (and very sparkly) this holiday season. Opening on November 19, Amaze Light Festival will light up Rosemont's Impact Field—home to the Chicago Dogs baseball team—with more than one million holiday lights spread across seven themed exhibits, plus a roster of festive activities ranging from a holiday market to a tubing hill.

The main attraction is the festival's sprawling array of light displays called Illuminated Worlds, which include themed exhibits like "Sparky's Land of Sweets" and the "Whimsical Forest" set to cheerful music, along with a free train car ride that weaves through massive illuminated snowmen as part of the "Arctic Express" display. Guests can roam along a lighted pathway to see all seven displays—with plenty of photo ops along the way—and pause to watch the festival's dazzling light show, which sends the million-plus bulbs flashing and dancing every half hour.

Once you've seen all the lights, wander through a holiday market stocked with candy, food and festive drinks, or go racing at Thrill Hill, the festival's tubing hill. You can also bring the kids to Santa's Workshop, an interactive area that allows little ones to play with massive Light Bright boards, bounce on lit-up see-saws, visit Santa and write letters to the North Pole (just note that you'll have to make a reservation for Santa's Workshop in advance when you purchase your tickets online).

Amaze opens to the public on November 19 and will run through January 2, 2022. General admission tickets ($23 for adults, $18 for children ages 2 through 12), which grant access to the main concourse and field activities, are on sale now; you can also opt for VIP or platinum tickets that offer additional amenities like access to heated tents ($34–$85). Tubing tickets for Thrill Hill are $20 for unlimited rides. Want to catch a sneak peek before you visit? Check out photos of Amaze below and let yourself dream of all the glittery, Christmassy fun to come this season.
