After selling out its inaugural event last summer, the Malört 5K will once again allow discerning drinkers to show off their physical prowess as well as their ability to knock back shots of Chicago's most infamous liqueur. Organized by the Chicago Fire Soccer Club supporters group Section 8, the latest edition of the boozy race will take place on Saturday, July 28 on the sidewalks surrounding the CIBC Fire Pitch (3626 N Talman Avenue).

The rules of the race are simple: Runners take a shot of Mälort and then run 3.1 miles to the finish line, where they'll need to down another shot of the wormwood liqueur before they can officially finish. The winner of the race gets a bottle of Malört to take home—the person who comes in last place gets two bottles. Participants get a commemorative T-shirt to show off their Mälort pride and will receive a complimentary beer from Buckledown Brewing to wash down all of the bitter booze.

Entry to the Malört 5K is $35—anyone brave enough to start taking shots at 8am on a sunny Saturday morning can secure their spot via Section 8's website.
