Four Chicago restaurants landed on a new global ranking, with two cracking the top 25.

Chicago may be best known for deep-dish pizza and Italian beef, but a newly-released global ranking suggests the city's burger game deserves just as much attention.
The World's 101 Best Burgers list for 2026 includes four Chicago restaurants, with one local favorite landing comfortably inside the global top 25.
Leading the pack is The Loyalist, which ranked No. 22 worldwide. The West Loop restaurant has long been considered home to one of Chicago's most celebrated burgers, thanks to its rich beef blend, caramelized onions and gooey cheese combination.
But not far behind is The Alston, which ranked No. 25 globally. The steakhouse's burger has developed a devoted following among Chicago diners, helping give the city two entries in the top 25. Chicago's presence doesn't end there. Asador Bastian landed at No. 68, while Little Bad Wolf, the beloved Andersonville neighborhood spot known for its towering burger, came in at No. 83.
This year's top spot went to Bleecker Burger in London, followed by fellow London favorite Black Bear Burger. Sydney's Café Margaret rounded out the top three.
Chicago may not have matched New York's eight appearances on the list, but four restaurants on a global ranking is still a strong showing for a city whose culinary identity is often dominated by other dishes. More notably, Chicago managed to place two burgers inside the world's top 25, a feat that many larger food cities couldn't match.
So whether your ideal burger is a carefully constructed steakhouse creation or a gloriously messy neighborhood favorite, Chicago now has a little more evidence that it belongs in any serious conversation about America's best burger cities.
