We curate a Chicago weekend itinerary of the city’s best concerts, culture and cuisine, every week, just for you.

Friday

Happy Place at 1004 N Elston Ave
This expansive adult playground in a warehouse near Goose Island is finally open for business—inside you'll find a giant ball pit, a confetti dome and more interactive (and selfie-friendly) installations. The pop-up experience is only in town through August 6, so act fast!

Windy City Ribfest at Lawrence Ave and Broadway St
Flex your jaw muscles and stretch that waistline at this barbecue fest in Uptown, featuring some of the city's best ribbers and cover bands.

Friday Night Flights at 2521 N Kedzie Boulevard
The Illinois Craft Brewers Guild's series of mini beer festivals comes to Logan Square, where breweries like Pipeworks, Revolution, Hopewell, Maplewood and Off Color serve samples to guests (10 three-ounce samples are $15 in advance, $20 at the door).

Saturday

Prime Time: F00TW3RK at Museum of Contemporary Art
The MCA's after-hours event series returns with a celebration of Chicago footwork music and dancing, with headlining sets from New York beatmaker Suzi Analogue and local producer RP Boo as well as access to the new exhibit “I Was Raised on the Internet.”

Tour de Fat at Humboldt Park Boat House
New Belgium Brewing's annual festival of beer and bikes moves to a new location, brings back its popular bike parade (which kicks off at 11am) and welcomes California rockers Best Coast as the afternoon's headlining musical act.

Harry Styles + Kacy Musgraves at United Center
Breakout One Direction star Harry Styles brings his
pop anthems to the arena, accompanied by rising country singer Kacey Musgraves.

Wild Women of Planet Wongo at Chopin Theatre
This musical spoof of ’60s B-movies promises an immersive theater experience, bringing the audience along as two male astronauts crash-land on a planet of alien warrior women.

Sunday

Chicago SummerDance at Spirit of Music Garden in Grant Park
It's the very first Sunday session of Chicago SummerDance! Put on your dancing shoes and show up at 4pm for an Argentine Tango lesson, then show off your moves to live music performed by Duo Scofano-Minetti and Tango 21.

Eyes to the Sky Festival at Lisle Community Park
Take a trip to Lisle, Illinois, for this annual festival, where you can hover over the suburbs in a hot air balloon, take a spin on carnival rides and enjoy a pre-Fourth of July fireworks display.

Serpentwithfeet + Lee Mo at Empty Bottle
Vocalist Josiah Wise presents a sultry, futuristic take on gospel music and R&B balladry, using his flexible voice to sing about his experiences as a black, queer man.
