The prospect of sitting and listening to around 3 hours of poetry would probably not inspire too many people to part with a sizeable sum of money and to give up and entire Saturday afternoon. But for the 400+ of us who did, it was time a money very well spent.

I had hoped it would be fantastic, and it was. Sarah and Phil performed some new material each but also some of their famous ones - 'Origin Story' and 'When Love Arrives' (their duet pieces), and Sarah did her now legendary poem 'If I Should Have A Daughter' - which, as she revealed, is actually entitled 'Be', but at some point got given its unofficial title by the media.

They were both awe-inspiring to listen to, but they were not the only highlight of the afternoon - SEVEN other poets (5 from Malaysia, one from Nigeria and one from Afghanistan) performed as well. I now have some other 'favourite spoken word artists' to add to my personal list.

It was a thought-provoking, inspiring, moving and entertaining show. Thankyou so much to Incitement for organising this!
