There will be two dance productions by Malaysian choreographers Pit Fong Loh and Ming Low, co-founders of the Bi Ma Dance Company in UK, staged in this double-bill performance. The fast-paced dances in ‘From Soho to Shinjuku’ are influenced by and will showcase the similarities and differences between the two cities. From a posh club in Soho to the streets of Tokyo, the pieces will offer images of shifting identities and values amidst the traditional and the new, and how the East and West find their place in a world that’s ever changing.
On the other hand, this restaged version of ‘Half Man Half Myth’ will be presented by a four-member all-male troupe. Performed within a constrained space, the piece will explore the dancers’ flow of energy as well as movements and expressions in relation to music and lights.
