FW Murnau 1926 (DE). A classic tale of a man who sells his soul to the devil, the film is an amalgamation of German folk legend and works of Goethe, Gounod as well as Marlowe. In an attempt to gain control of Earth, Mephisto wagers an angel that he can pollute the soul of the elderly Professor Faust.
