It’s the time of year where gender-specific menus abound. The gentleman’s tempting four-course degustation menu starts with pan-seared foie gras and poached sea prawn and scallop with squid ink risotto. For mains, it’s a choice between the slow-braised lamb shank in red wine and tea-smoked trout fillet with brown rice. Caramel ice cream with vanilla crème anglaise completes the male side of things. Moving on to the lady’s menu, pan-seared Hokkaido scallop and consommé of porcini mushroom start the party. The choice of main course is similar to the gentlemen’s menu but for dessert, she gets the caramel chocolate mousse with cream cheese, strawberry-dipped lollipops, and strawberry crumble with red fruit compote.
