Le French Festival: Mokhtar Samba at No Black Tie

Although based in France, percussionist Mokhtar Samba’s Moroccan and Senegalese heritage is what drives his music – think a mix of Western harmonies, African rhythms and Bedouin tunes. He’ll be taking the stage at No Black Tie to showcase a few numbers from his album ‘Racines’, which features covers of music by jazz legends John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk and Michael Brecker.
