Time Out says

‘Nari’ – meaning both ‘sacrifice’ and ‘woman’ in Sanskrit – is the story of Lakshmi Shankar and her daughter Viji, two women who brought Indian music to the west in the ’70s through their collaborations with Ravi Shankar and then George Harrison and The Beatles. ‘Nari’ is Viji’s daughter Gingger’s (composer, singer, musician extraordinaire) passion project – a multimedia, multi-generational performance that mashes Indian percussion and vocals with contemporary eletronica, hip hop and Gingger’s double violin, all set against a backdrop of archival footage, film and old family photos.
