In conjunction with International Women’s Day, the Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur is organising two events themed around the occasion. The first is a portrait exhibition titled ‘The Beautiful Truth’ taken by Shuhada Hasim. It features photographs of everyday women designed to empower women through presenting beauty as not defined by age, skin colour and body shape.
The second event is a fashion show by Balò Association, a group that has equipped a group of young Indian women with the capacity to create their own range of clothing for the European market, thus enabling them to become financially independent. Their line will be presented during the fashion show and will be available for purchase afterwards.
