Hetain Patel: At Home

Our perception of identity is distorted and our connections to domestic settings are put into question through Patel’s self-portrait photographs. For his Pump House commission he’s made a departure into animation so he can merge the daily routine of his mother with a Wandsworth mother, ultimately obscuring their individual characteristics that might define them in society.
