Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2011

This year's annual Serpentine Gallery Pavilion commission is designed by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor and includes a specially created garden by the Dutch garden designer Piet Oudolf. The idea is that the building will act as a stage for an interior garden of flowers and light, in which to sit, walk and observe the flowers. Once again the pavilion will operate as a public space and as a venue for Park Nights, the Gallery's programme of public talks and events. Park Nights will culminate in the sixth annual Serpentine Gallery Marathon in October.
