Have you ever seen people on the 'urban beach' at South Bank, sitting on ridiculous deckchairs and pretending they're having a good time while everyone points at them and wonders why they're sitting on some rocks next to The Thames? If you're longing for some proper seaside city vibes, head instead to The Book Club's annual Bookstock party, this year with a nautical theme. It's an outdoor, street event, held outside The Book Club and featuring '70s NYC disco-funk band Odyssey, hip hop duo Nextmen, Disco Bloodbath man Ben Pistor and brilliantly named Prince tribute Princeless. There'll be other fun and games as well, including a Baywatch slo-mo running competition, a knobbly knees contest, a Punch and Judy show, a surf simulator (let's see how they pull that one off), fish and chips, sticks of that insanely sugary rock that destroys teeth in seconds and more. All together now, Oh... we do like to be beside the Book Club...
