Rome has been a cultural hub for over two millennia. Just mull that over for a moment. That’s older than most countries, let alone cities. So, it's safe to assume that it's built up quite the roster of things to do and see over that time. From historical attractions and world-leading art galleries to scrumptious restaurants and hip boutiques, there are few places better than the Italian capital for living la dolce vita. That stands for the city’s Airbnbs, too. Fantastic Airbnbs are littered throughout, providing a peerless base from which to explore like a local.

Whether you're after rooms overlooking the Colosseum or that typically high-fashion Italiano boutique apartment, we’ve rounded up Rome’s best Airbnbs to suit everyone's tastes. Don't forget to leave room for gelato.

3. The luxe apartment on Trevi Square

Even if this apartment wasn’t very, very luxurious, its location alone would grant it a place on this list. With some of the finest views of the Trevi Fountain in all of Rome, it’s a phenomenal base from which to explore the city. And it is, of course, also rather spectacularly fancy. With chandelier bling and an all-white finish, this one’s a doozy.

The mood? Modern, elegant, understated.
Location perks? In addition to being moments away from the fountain, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining-out options. Pizza in Trevi is certainly worth a slice.
