Time Out says
Sixties session musician (Monkees, Presley, Sinatra, Beach Boys) turned '70s country-pop megastar and actor, best known for 'Rhinestone Cowboy' and his magnificent versions of Jimmy Webb songs ('By the Time I Get to Phoenix', 'Wichita Lineman', 'Where's The Playground Susie?', 'Galveston') whose last album saw him make like the late Mr Cash and cover contemporary rock tracks from U2 to Foo Fighters and, erm, Green Day, is bowing out. After more than 50 years in the business, his alzheimer's means that 'The Goodbye Tour' will be Campbell's final, but he'll be going out with a bang – playing all the hits as well as his final LP 'Ghost on the Canvas', with support from his daughters and his son's band.
