Mike Westbrook: The Serpent Hit

British chamber-jazz composer Mike Westbrook is best known for his characteristic blend of Brechtian music theatre, Sondheim-style operatic populism and angular, Carla Bley-ish arrangements. Here marking his 75th birthday, he's joined by a seven-piece band performing various works from his vast catalogue and a world premier of his latest piece 'The Serpent Hit', with vocals from his wife Kate and saxophonist Chris Biscoe.
