A top pan-African bill, this. Launching new single 'Azonto Decale', headlining Cameroonian songwriter Valdo combines intricate African guitar lines with harmonica, loops and samples to create sun-kissed, groove-heavy 'Sawa blues'. M3NSA is one half of FOKN Bois (the caps are obviously catching), the foul-mouthed Ghanaian comic Afropop duo behind the world's first pidgin musical 'Coz Ov Moni'. He's based in London, but his 2011 solo debut 'No 1 Mango Street' was rooted in the MC's experiences growing up in the Ghanaian capital of Accra, and is a sharp addition to African hip hop. By contrast, five-piece Kasai Masai fill the dancefloor with rhythms traditional to remote villages along the Congo River, while djembe drummer Sackey gives vintage Ghanaian music a funky fusion twist.
