Venice by Night

La Serenissima (Mhairi Lawson, soprano, Peter Whelan, bassoon, Simon Munday, trumpet, and violinist Adrian Chandler) invites you to experience the sounds of eighteenth-century Venice. On offer are songs of the gondoliers, music from a noblemans's palace, sacred music from one of the many churches, a violin concerto by Venice's most famous musical son and a trip to the opera house of San Angelo. Celebratory trumpet music, virtuosic vocal music and foot-tapping music for strings are all included in the mix. Music by Pollarolo, Veracini, Albinoni, Vivaldi, Porta and Lotti.
