The drama and pathos of the Holy Week liturgy inspired some of the greatest church music of the Renaissance. In commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the death of Tomás Luis de Victoria the choir Tenebrae sings his peerless 'Tenebrae Responsories'. The programme also includes music by his prominent contemporary Francisco Guerrero, the richly expressive 'Lamentations of Jeremiah' by Alonso Lobo and a rare chance to hear the greatest work by the early Tudor composer Robert Fayrfax, 'Maria plena virtute'. All presented in Wren's atmospheric church.
