After enjoying much success at its Brighton flagship, The Coconut Island has taken over the former Bill's site at 9 White Lion Street and opened up a brand-new restaurant, offering a fun, flavour-packed, high-energy Sri Lankan experience – a much-needed mini escape in the heart of the capital. 

As a 'food lover from Sri Lanka's northern region', founder Keith has a 'deep-rooted passion for authentic Sri Lankan flavours' – and it shows. The menu delivers a bountiful range of Sri Lankan street-food classics: think national dishes like rice and spicy curries, as well as tasty kottu rotis and authentic hoppers – a traditional savoury bowl-shaped pancake stuffed with delicious condiments. 

As for drinks, the vibrant cocktail list is giving bold and tropical, with its signature coconut-infused cocktails serving serious vibes in many an umbrella-topped, salt-rimmed cocktail glass. Our personal favourite? The 'Fire It Up': a pineapple, guava, lime and raspberry infusion combined with spiced and coconut rum. Yes, it's likely to set your soul – and night – on fire.
