Social enterprise Fine Cell Work trains prisoners – 97 percent of them are men – in paid, skilled needlework. There’s even a waiting list to take part in the classes, and needleworkers are encouraged to learn how to manage their working hours, with some inmates working up to 40 hours a week crafting cushions. For four days only, Fine Cell work is having a showroom sale. Choose from picnic perfect scatter cushions, exquisite patchwork quilts or even quirky tea cosies – expect to see up to 40 percent off all soft-furnishings.
Online sale starts from the Friday July 12 until July 19 2013.
