Petersham Nurseries is the kind of place I’m going to hang out in when I’m a grown up.

Yes, I realise that I am in fact thirty-ahem something years old but this glorious piece of prime yummy mummy Richmond real estate seems to me the sort of spot I need to really be a ‘proper’ adult to enjoy…being a pretty well-paid one would help enormously too!

Tucked down a sweet country lane – when approaching from foot on a crisp Sunday afternoon anyway – this is the perfect place for aspirational home accessory browsing, for rainbow flower garden shopping and for delicious tea & cake pit-stops with your favourite people. Trust me, you mum will love it.

For dining it’s not cheap - starters kick off at £10 and mains hover around the £22 mark – but the setting is beautiful and there was no shortage of diners on my visit. It would be perfect for a special occasion, a birthday afternoon tea, a cosy weekend supper and now that they have Christmas decorations in by the artisan-pottery-platterful, you can always splash out on a bauble without feeling too much guilt.

Low glass ceilings and swathes of greenery wherever you turn make this a stunning space and you can see why it’s one of London’s most popular wedding venues. Cosy and inspirational and full of things you never even knew you needed, it’s not surprising that this place has cult status in London now and it’s the ideal place to head for on a crispy wintry day out in Richmond.

Cute place! I'm writing review for the newly opened Covent Garden branch. I only browsed through their things quickly while looking for a gift. Things are elegantly presented.

Getting myself in the christmas spirit of things, I went along for christmas wreath making workshop over here. It is a little pricey but all materials are supplied with refreshments and after a few hours you’ll come away with your own personalised wreath to decorate your home. The tutors are friendly and it was fascinating learning about all the different types of foliage and and natural embellishments out there to decorate your creation. Feel inspired to go wild and release your inner creative streak. At this time of year everything is decorated with lush plants, pine cones and ferns, twinkling fairy lights and shiny baubles. The Petersham nurseries itself is a delightful place but probably a little smaller than i imagined, the cafe and tearooms are well known and unfortunately i didn’t have time to visit but will be returning to check these out in the near future. This is a lovely place to go for lunch and come evening time everything is lit up with lights. There is limited parking so I found it easier to take public transport which is just a short bus ride away from Richmond station.

The flowers are stunning! The shop has nice trendy furnishings for a ridiculous amount of money. But they do have very unusual goodies. Fun to look at!
