There is no escaping the fact that this pool is on the chilly side, letting nature do the heating, or not on most days. However, once you can breath again there is something exhilarating about a cold swim even if you are providing the live action for the onlookers sipping their coffees in the adjoining cafe. The setting itself is just beautiful and for some reason it feels healthier being able to see trees and clouds when you swim. And, once you are done with your swimming efforts there is no end of treats waiting for you in the cafe to reward yourself for a job well done.

This is a gem of a lido, situated on the edge of the beautiful Brockwell Park. This non-heated 50m pool is popular all year round. Many people who brave the water during winter without a wetsuit can go and thaw out in the sauna afterwards. Also, highly recommend the lido cafe for a well deserved post swim coffee and cake. Food is a little expensive but the ingredients are organic/locally sourced and tasty.

Great Lido situated in the gorgeous Brockwell park. Also has really good gym facilities and nothing better than a hearty breakfast in the Lido Cafe after a hunger inducing swim! With lots of timeout awards been giving to this eatery it is easy to see why, great brunch selection. Also a lovely spot to just drop by for a coffee and a slice of cake!

I like this lido as a relaxing place to swim when cold. However if it is a weekend and the sun is peaking through it gets packed. Still fun but unfortunately it is too busy for my taste.

The thought of donning a swimming costume at any of London's outdoor swimming venues fills me with dread, however slightly less so at this one.  Maybe it's because there's a few less hipsters which makes it less busy and more spacious than London Fields (for the sum of a quid extra).  Great showers and decent changing rooms equipped with hairdryers, however don't do what I did and forget your towel, there's no renting one.  Slightly off putting by the spectators spilling out from the poolside cafe but if you can get over this it's worth the (very cold) plunge.

The best of all the Lidos, much less queuing, really cheap, all year round opening times and an amazing cafe which is worth a visit alone.

Such a relaxing way to spend an afternoon and a balanced crowd too (not too many boozy posers, not too many families).

Breakfast at the cafe is one of the best in London and they also make a mean cocktail, no reason to leave all day.

The pool is open all year round for 2013 with both Summer and Winter Timetables in place. Membership for use of all facilities is also good value! A beautiful setting with great historical value

I think it's a great place to go swimming - it's only £3.10 for a swim, there are showers inside and out. There are small lockers by the pool and the pool is much bigger than most of London's indoor pools! There's a little bit of grit and leaf litter in the pool but -hello!- it's OUTSIDE. This is to be expected. It is open until 8pm every day in summer.
