[title]
This new musical – which has previously popped up in various guises in the Middle East – makes its UK debut with a run at the Charing Cross Theatre. Co-written by and starring Nadim Naaman, ‘Broken Wings’ is set in New York, 1923, and follows the ageing Gibran as he looks back upon his life in Beirut, 20 years previously. We’re told it’s an ‘unmissable musical voyage, exploring issues of gender equality, immigration, the freedom to love who we love, and what “home” really means to us’ – all a bit vague, but it’s co-writted by Dana Al Faden, directed by Bronagh Lagan, and staged in-the-round.
