Hansel and Gretel

Open Door Opera presents Engelbert Humperdinck's charming account of this Brothers Grimm fairy-tale. When their Mother sends Hansel and Gretel out of the house to look for food, the children quickly find themselves lost in the depths of a dark forest. Finally, almost starving, they find a house made of bread, cakes and sweets, inhabited by a witch. Featuring two alternating casts that include Rebecca Dale and Danae Eleni (Gretel), Katie Slater and Laura Kelly (Hansel). Lewis Reynolds directs. Accompanied by Kelvin Lim, with designs by Valentino Monticello. (Sung in English. Mulled wine at the interval.)
