In a world of chaos, find your calm at AIRE Ancient Baths – an immersive experience steeped in ritual and relaxation. Found across some of the world’s most vibrant cities – including Barcelona, New York and Seville – it’s no surprise that London has its very own thermal baths space. Inspired by various bathing traditions from ancient civilisations, AIRE invites you to return to stillness and immerse yourself in the serenity of historically restored spaces centred in peace. And, from now until August 31, you’ll enjoy 30 minutes of extra bathing time using an exclusive link for Time Out readers – find out more on that below. 

Awaken your senses to orange blossom-scented spaces and sounds of flowing waterfalls, all bathed in soft candlelight as you’re guided into a sensorial journey unlike any other. Each AIRE experience centres on its signature thermal circuit through contrasting baths to renew and reconnect your body and mind, which includes the Caldarium (hot bath), Frigidarium (cold bath), Tepidarium (warm bath), Balneum (bath of a thousand jets), Vaporium (steam room) and finally, the Flotarium (salt bath).

In addition to your journey through water, you’ll get to experience a range of treatments curated to elevate your experience, from ancient-inspired exfoliation rituals to warming stone massages. All this, and more, awaits you just off Covent Garden, set within a beautifully restored Georgian building on Westminster’s doorstep.

For a moment (90 minutes, actually) of pure relaxation, go for the Ultimate Bath experience. Included in this experience is a DIY wellness set that features a renewing scrub, hydrating eye patches and a refreshing drink while you unwind in each contrasting bath. 

Starting with the Caladarium (hot bath), you’ll melt away all tension before shifting to the Frigidarium (cold bath) that will reawaken your senses (and circulation). Then, you’ll restore your body and mind in the gentle warmth of the Tepidarium (warm bath) before taking a dip in the Balneum – the ‘bath of a thousand jets’. Next, you’ll move to the Vaporium (steam room) that’s infused with peppermint for a ‘deeper sensory experience’ before ending your experience with a float in the Flotarium (salt bath). Dreamy indeed. £140 per person, 90 minutes plus 30 minutes of additional bath time.

After the ultimate 30-minute journey through your senses with a visit to each thermal bath on AIRE’s stunningly curated circuit, you’ll be immersed in 30 relaxing minutes of massage – all while you’re surrounded by candles and deeply immersed in a truly magical atmosphere. This experience really ties in with the relaxation and ritual mindset that AIRE has so beautifully created. Sounds pretty special, right?
