This series of talks aim to revive the art of oral storytelling and draw attention to the value of folktales, fairy tales and myths as entertainment for grownups. In this session the very impressive Professor Ronald Hutton (who has degrees from Oxford and Cambridge, has taught at Bristol for 33 years, published 15 books, 70 essays and currently chairs the Blue Plaques Panel) will examine the figure of the hero in traditional western epic literature and what it takes to make a hero. Drinks and nibbles and the opportunity to mull over Hutton’s presentation will follow the talk.
